As a left-wing Democrat, I find this very concerning and dangerous, but many others feel differently about the topic of gun control, and more specifically, background checks. Most opposition to extensive background checks are Republicans, and this can be seen portrayed in traditional Republican values like safety, security, and family. The Evolution In nature evolution occurs throughout various different things. Also evolution occurs in technology. Take for instance, ATM was an evolution of frame relay, and frame relay was an evolution of packet switching. Evolution happens everywhere but in technology it happens all the time. Packet switching technology breaks down messages into fixed-length pieces called packets and sent through a network individually. In packet switching messages are segmented into packets of a pre determined size before they are sent. This process is called packetizing. The packets are normally 1000 bytes long. There is a lot of error protection in the packet. Packet switching networks are made to run several alternative high-speed paths from one node to another. For instance if a node from San Francisco is trying to send a message to Los Angeles and the connection is busy or down, it will redirect its message to Denver then to Los Angeles as an alternative route. Frame relay is packet switching's next of kin. Frame relay evolved from packet switching. Instead of sending packets frame relay sends frames. " A frame has a one-byte header, two addressing and control bytes, a variable-length data field (1-64000 bytes), a 16-bit cyclic redundancy check, and a termination byte."Tcom book. In frame relay, there is hardware, on both ends of the connection that builds and breaks down frames. They do this through all kinds of data streams, LAN packets, digital voice, and asynchronous terminal input and the hardware writes the frames serially. The reason frame relay is more popular and better evolved than packet switching is that it uses commonly available circuits, which provides good throughput, and has low latency and is easy to configure. Packet switching is only good for data transferring and is sent through one type of line. Frame relay sends more information faster and through multi forms of connections. This makes packet switching not the suitabl e choice for ISP's. Thus leaving packet switching out of the picture in that field of that business. Many ISP's us frame relay as a customer access technology, for port aggregation and local traffic switching by ISP's is the fastest growing segment of the frame relay market. Leaving packet switching in the dust. However frame relay is not top dog in data transfers. Another form of transferring has evolved from frame relay, which is ATM (Asynchronous transfer mode). It is also known as cell relay. This form was created to solve the problem of delays in the transferring. It gets really annoying when you watch a video and it keeps on skipping or stopping every few seconds. That is an idea of a delay in data transferring. Its cells use fixed packets of 53 bytes. Theses cells can also be built and broken down like frame relay, but in a faster time. All forms of data, like voice, video, and data, can be sent through a single ATM line, at the same time (like a T3 line). A large amount of bandwidth is required to use ATM. However frame relay may be the more efficient way to go. Do to the fact that it cost more for ATM lines that it does for frame relay. Right now frame relay is the efficient source of data transfer, but in the future as multimedia features grow the need for ATM will grow with it as well. Having the best isn't always better. It may cost more than what you want to spend. From packet switching to frame relay to ATM, they all evolved from each other. Taking existing technology and improving it for the time it is needed for.

Terrorism, whether homegrown or international continues to pose challenges to administrative leaders as well as healthcare professionals. Nursing plays an important role while responding to the immediate and long-term requirements of populations affected by disaster. The importance of an initial disaster management plan to treat casualties is revealed based on the research study on the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India. Portmore needs an upscale lady’s shoe store because the other stores have an inadequate selection. Now, a lady who needs a unique special kind of shoes often must travel over to Portmore to find what suits them. Uniquely Neish Shoetique will have a selection of different styles of shoes and these include Loafers, Sandals, working class shoes, Pumps etc; all these are unique, different from the rest and its designer branded. The sizes can be said to be cost prohibitive due to the restocking of all different styles. Uniquely Neish Shoetique has a very unique business model and what this does’s is that; it allows a wide selection at a cost of restocking one size per style. They have a special relationship with the wholesaler which means, Uniquely Neish can receive the ordered sizes for customers in two days or they can do the overnight rush shipping at an additional cost. Being that Uniquely Neish Shoetique is a small business it has over 100 clients which is good for a start knowing that they only started 4 years ago. The marketing plans is not so much effective but if it was they can gain more than enough clients that will bring other people along through word of mouth; for example effective advertising, targeting the right people etc. Uniquely Neish Shoetique is not so much Technology inclined as they are still fairly small so they only use the basic Technology they know how to use. Whereas HRM deals with a more now a day’s approach of management and is a strategic function. It deals with motivation of employees, development and acquisition. Personnel Management is centralized which means decisions are done only by top management as it only involve personnel management. HRM in Uniquely Neish Shoetique is concerned with workers on every level of the business. Decisions are made once employees are involved they are more decentralized everyone inside Uniquely Neish Shoetique is involved in the decision making process; no one is left out. When it comes on to Personnel Management in Uniquely Neish Shoetique it offers less training and development opportunities for employees whilst our HRM offers training and opportunity for development. Our HRM ensure that employees are given enough training that has to do with dealing with customers, using the cash register, adding clients to our client’s lists and how to find the right shoes and also take note of stocks that we are out off. Those were some of the clear differences between the Uniquely Neish Shoetique Personnel Management and Human Resources Management. As stated before there’s not much difference but there’s a clear distinct difference between the two. One has more activities (HRM) associated with it while the other has less (PM). Our HRM has to go through a huge amount of applicants is a big responsibility where they must ensure that they recruit the right candidates suitable for sales representative job positions. After that task is finish they have to schedule interviews to meet with the chosen applicants to see what they are all about, their qualifications, and individual traits and sometimes does a thorough background check. Motivation: Uniquely Neish Shoetique is a ladies shoe store and we are not that much a big business but we ensure that we use monetary things to motivate our employees to come to work every day with urge to meet, greet new people and interact with them no matter how hard they can be sometimes. Motivation can come in the forms of monetary or non- monetary but in most cases workers motivation is monetary. Monetary means having to do with money, cash etc. If employees are not performing up to standard its HR responsible to do a performance check as well as to create a reward system for them to be motivated. State of the economy can cause Uniquely Neish Shoetique and any other businesses to not hire anyone at all so they have to be prepared for situations like these to combat them. Technology: According to (Erick Friedman. 2013.) technology is considered as an external factor because once new technology is being introduced the HR department can start thinking of how to downsize and new ways to save. Due to the high increase of technology today there’s ways to do everything including cutting back and saving. Uniquely Neish Shoetique just started out, so need to know and understand how to cut back and save. Work Force Demographics: Nowadays employees are different from those of back then employees. Retired persons are seen as old generation type of workers and the new generation is the current candidates so HR must create environment that will attract the new candidates as times goes by. New generation candidates are more modern so they know what to expect from a job such as benefits, compensations etc. So it’s for HR to provide these schemes for new candidates so that they are satisfied with their jobs. There are a lot of businesses out there that disregards these external factors regardless of what it can do to their businesses but in order for their business to be long-term they must follow and pay attention to these external factors. Recommendations I would recommend that for this small business to survive selling unique designer ladies shoes they need to have some form of advertising going on out there such as, social media pages to do advertising about the business and to announce sales, on radio television newspapers etc. Another recommendation could be to have online stores where ladies can stay from their home or offices at work and view the different styles or designs of shoes and to see whenever there’s a sale where there’s going to be a sale and what time the sale will take place. They could also try placing fliers in supermarkets, salons, nail technicians shop etc. They may want to come up with ideas to get the shoes across to persons. For example; Island Delivery .The location of the store is in Portmore and even though Portmore is like a city of its own, a lot of people do not like going to Portmore or they might not be close to Portmore but needs a pair of those unique designer shoes, so they need some way of getting the shoes to clients. Another recommendation is that they should try little kids girl designer shoes as well because mothers don’t mind buying a pair of unique shoes for their daughter’s. The True Hero of Homer's The Iliad The Iliad is a story in which many men should be recognized as great war heroes. They all show a tremendous amount of courage to fight in such a barbaric battle. But this paper?s main focus is between two great leaders of opposing sides. Achilles, who represents the Achaians and Hector, who represents the Trojans. Though both show their bravery during many different instances in the poem, it?s quite obvious to the reader who the better of the two is. The rest of this paper will prove why Hector is a greater hero in comparison to Achilles. The reader is introduced to Achilles in the first book of the poem. King Agamemnon and Achilles are having a conflict over a woman. But if you read deeper into the conflict it has more to do with honor. Honor seems to be the most important thing to all of the characters in the poem. In book two, after the argument between Achilles and King Agamemnon has come to a hault, Achilles has already decided not to defend his army. He feels the king has dishonored him, by refusing to give him Chryseis. So for about  ¾ of the war he did not help his fellow brothers in battle, instead he chose to pout for more than half of the poem. He knew that he was desperately needed at one point and still refused to assist in battle. He kept tabs on everything that was going on by sending out Patroklos to Nestor. Nestor would keep him up to date with the daily occurrences. There are three separate occasions where things weren?t going in favor of Achilles, and he would cry. His tears were so heavy and his cries so loud that his mother would come down from the heavens (She is a goddess) to offer her assi... ...his life. The battle was very intense and the poem gives a great description of the occurrences. The reader can easily get a mental image of the scene. Their final battle was described from the setting in the sky, all the way to Achilles? spear ripping through the flesh in Hectors neck.. I could almost hear the clanking of the weapons of the two warriors. In my opinion if Achilles would?ve been in battle for as long as Hector he wouldn?t have won. Hector died fighting for his country and that was believed to be the greatest honor of them all. If you take the two characters and hold them up next to one another there isn?t even a question in my mind as to who portrays the more heroic role. Achilles fought in the end because he blamed himself for the death of his friend. Hector fought for his country, his family, and for his honor.

Malcom X Summary

Malcolm X’s Prison Education Malcolm X was an African American Muslim minister who, as a teen, spent most of his time hustling people and getting into trouble. This soon landed him in prison. During his prison sentence he became self-educated, which led him to be an articulate speaker, to discover the true history of African American slaves, and to become a strong advocator of human rights. Malcolm X’s â€Å"A Homemade Education†, starts off in a soft and calm tone. X uses a persuasive style narrative from the Autobiography of Malcolm X to share his story.By the end of the essay his tone has changed to a more angry and demanding style. While in prison, X explains how he began writing letters to Mr. Elijah Muhammad, a Muslim leader, but, not being able to write in an articulate manner, X began getting frustrated because he could not express what he wanted to say. He also states that he could not keep a conversation with his prison friend Bimbi or even understand t he books he read because of his lack of knowledge.X says that he got a hold of a dictionary and began to copy word for word everything, learning more words and what they meant. He also says went to the prison library and read books about science, history, and slavery. X was most inspired by Mr. Muhammad’s teachings. X explains that in one of Mr. Muhammad’s teachings, Mr. Muhammad stressed how history had been â€Å"whitened,† in other words, that black history was left out of history books (95). He says he immediately began to search in the library for books that would inform him about black history.He says he read many books about black history and the early struggles for freedom. X states he will never forget how shocked he was when he read about the brutality of slavery or the illustrations of black slave women being tied up and beaten, children being taken away from families, and dogs hunting down slaves. X explains how he read books about the histories of v arious nations and learned that the white men had made all non-white people suffer, especially in India and China.He explains how the British white man controlled much of India and how people of India refused to obey orders and were beaten and killed. X also explains the Opium War in China and that some observers in China have reported that the world had never known such a hate campaign as is now going on in this non-white country (98). Reading about the various histories of the world, X found a common theme; white men were not liked by many civilizations. X states that he never knew that reading in prison would change the course of his life.He says his homemade education has given him more than a college degree could ever give him and that it is worth more than a college education because it is knowledge that no one can take away from him. Malcolm X states he has learned a lot from his reading about black history, he stresses that black men should not only fight for civil rights, b ut they need to think bigger and win their human rights. Within the sphere of traditional activism, there are issues like war, nuclear power, abortion and standard organizational principals and consciousness-raising strategies. It even goes beyond traditional barriers, embracing illegal methods of obtaining their goals.
